The London School of Media Make Up – The LSMM is the leading makeup school in London offering tuition by working make-up artists across the specialisms of Contemporary Fashion & Beauty, Casualty & Special Effects, Prosthetics, Airbrushing, Period Techniques & Character make-up, Hair Styling & Body Painting.
The school was first founded in 2005 by BAFTA award winning make-up artist Jeanne Richmond. Jeanne built the makeup school with the vision of providing students with outstanding technical training alongside practical industry experience to prepare them for careers at the highest level. Jeanne brought in leading professionals to tutor her students and developed the pioneering in house makeup agency to support the students professionally upon graduation, something that is still unique to the school today. Trainee experience is guaranteed both during and after the makeup course. Rebecca Wordingham took over as Creative Director of the school in 2015 and with her experience innovation and enthusiasm The LSMM is embarking on the most exciting period of its history to date.
Our programme of study within the makeup lessons combines techniques from film and television with the conceptual artistry and the commercial awareness of fashion & beauty make-up. The LSMM has been providing makeup courses for over 10 years teaching the latest techniques with up-to-date product knowledge by top professionals.

Jeanne Richmond, Founder & Principal –
Having spent a career in the Film & Television industry both in the UK and the USA – always employing assistants and trainees on productions, I became aware that training standards were not consistent across the board. After teaching at two other schools I realised that a much more bespoke approach would benefit the students in much smaller class sizes making as much of a one to one approach as possible. Work experience is vital both during the course and immediately afterwards so that having a smaller group to place with our own Tutors, other Make-up Designers, Production Companies and Film Schools enables The LSMM team to gain both valuable studio etiquette as well as building solid contacts within the Film, Television & Fashion industries.
I started the school 10 years ago with this very different ethos and am happy to say we have gone from strength to strength. The LSMM is now in the capable hands of Rebecca Wordingham our creative director. Rebecca is experienced in all aspects of the industry, working in her own right as a make-up artist, as well as fulfilling her role as the Creative Director at The LSMM.
